Entry Requirements

Applicants must hold a recognised undergraduate degree or equivalent in an area other than psychology from an approved tertiary institution. They must also meet the subject prerequisites for second year psychology topics by having completed equivalent entry level psychology topics from Flinders University or from an approved institution, or by completing a qualifying topic. The qualifying topic is a web-based course that can be completed off-campus and is designed for applicants who have not met the subject prerequisites of the course.

  • IELTS (Academic): 6.5 Overall with 6.0 Speaking, 6.0 Writing, 6.0 Reading, 6.0 Listening;
  • TOEFL (Internet): 79 Overall with 18 Speaking, 21 Writing, 13 Reading, 12 Listening;
  • Pearson PTE Academic: 58 Overall with 50 Speaking, 50 Writing, 50 Reading, 50 Listening;
  • Cambridge English Advanced (CAE): Pass grade of C;
  • Occupational English Test (OET): 300 Speaking, 300 Writing, 300 Reading, 300 Listening

Course Details

A nationally accredited psychology major is available to students who have already completed a degree in any discipline, with the Bachelor of Psychological Studies (Graduate Entry). This degree will help you enhance your understanding of human behaviour and to pursue further studies in psychology.

What you will study

The program develops knowledge of psychological theory and research regarding the factors influencing human behaviour and experience, and provides skills for the application of this knowledge to issues in the real world. You will undertake a core set of studies covering such fields as learning, motivation, personality, development across the lifespan, group processes, and biological and social influences on behaviour.

Your career

Graduates are expected to find jobs in areas such as youth work, advertising and marketing, policy and research, consumer research, industrial relations, human resources, program coordination and welfare.
